Not a “Pony Express” Society – PETITION TO ABOLISH THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE

Not a “Pony Express” Society YOUR PERSONAL PRESIDENTIAL CHOICE = PETITION TO ABOLISH THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE

 http://petitions.moveon.org/sign/abolish-the-electoral-6.fb49?source=s.fb.in&r_by=7986692

PETITION BACKGROUND

“The Electoral College has outlasted its usefulness. It is part of the constitution, written when communication was by pony express. Voters currently living and voting in a “red” or “blue” state are disenfranchised, because their vote doesn’t matter… The electoral members are selected by the two main political parties, Republican and Democrat… ”

So what about all the choices of all other voters: independent, Libertarian, and others? These voters choices are NOT recognized!

A SERIES: THE MISSING (L.A.P.D. Special Investigations Book 4) by Linda Style

THE MISSING (L.A.P.D. Special Investigations Book 4) by Linda Style

REVIEWED BY: Charlotte M. Liebel

The creative, eye-opening researcher and journalistic novice writes ‘in your face’ stories for “The Achilles’ Heel” magazine in California. Readers are challenged by the best-selling author of romance novels and awards, Linda Style, who leads audiences into family tragedy coupled with terror and narrow escapes from a random criminal. This suspenseful tale dares the reader to follow the fearless journals of missing children by Julianna Chevalair. Here is a woman with a purpose whose life is in jeopardy.

Best friend and former father-in-law lives on a ranch, alone, and Julianna accepts his invitation to visit. About this time, her ex-husband shows up unexpectedly. Of course, Detective Luke Coltrane meets with a 911 prowler call by local police as he tries making his night visit after years of absence. This encounter might have triggered Julianna’s higher anxiety because she is running from a potential killer.

Unfortunately, Luke and Juliana had gone through personal tragedy that ended in divorce. Dad and son do not connect emotionally, as well. The threesome are incompatible. Well and good if all can leave a helper for Abe and end their unfinished business. However, complications have already been set.

Abe is ill with complications. Julianna (Jules) is trying to complete the magazine’s article by deadline. Luke is working on two high-profile cases with contacts in Los Angeles.

Things could get worse. Abe and Julianna get along, fine.  She confides in him.  It’s a long shot, but Abe confides in Luke about Jules’ safety. Suddenly, Luke hits on the connection from his past resources in his detective work and the stories that Jules is writing. Also, Abe recognizes smoldering ashes ready to be ignited. This story is an impressive read toward sustaining happiness from a man’s point-of-view. Dad and son, here, exchange valuable words of wisdom. It’s a two-way exchange for couples, as well.

A lot of stuff is going down, now. Readers are learning about Luke’s distancing problems with Jules. Detectives are covering Luke’s diversified options. Cold cases, as well as the current ones, are on the table. Luke gets a couple of his pals to look into stored files. Linked witnesses, murders, suspects, and disappearing family members get attention. Sudden flashbacks alert readers to zoom in on suspects!

However, recall all those Cold Cases on TV?  Are you prepared for the most frightening of murder suspects?

Author Linda Style engages the reader with romance, crime and mystery stories. She has won numerous awards including the Daphne du Maurier Award, and most recently, the Holt Medallion Award of Merit.  In this story, Ms.Style shares her expertise in unscrambling the diversified meanderings of detectives and police files.

A terrific stand-alone book in a Series . Recommend: THE MISSING (L.A.P.D. Special Investigations Book 4) by Linda Style. [Verified Purchase]

SHARING @CharlotteM.Liebel Blog: Why Are Certain Stories Timeless? by Kristen Lamb

[Excerpt from the Kristen Lamb Blog]  ~ The Power of Names ~

Naming characters can be vital. Great writers use the power of parsimony. Each element should serve as many purposes as possible. A name is more than a name. It has the power to be a story within a story.

I recall the moment I was first introduced to what would become my favorite hymn, Come Thou Fount of Many Blessings. One verse stood out:

Here I raise my Ebenezer

Here by Thy great help I’ve come

And I hope, by Thy good pleasure

Safely to arrive at home.

Ebenezer? Raise an Ebenezer? I needed to know more. Ebenezer is actually אבן העזר, Even Ha’Ezer, which literally means stone of help or monument to God’s glory and is referenced in the book of Samuel.

Thus, when Dickens chose a name for his protagonist, he chose the perfect name for the redeemed sinner. What is a better testament to a God of grace, than the hardened heart melted by the power of love?

~ THE CHEAP DETECTIVE [Movie Review by Charlotte M. Liebel]

The Cheap Detective

The slapstick movie ‘The Cheap Detective’ and May the Farce Be With You.                   ~Charlotte M. Liebel Reviewer

The slapstick movie “The Cheap Detective” is entertaining with witty surprises. Always the delightful character, it stars Detective Colombo, none other than Peter Falk. He  plays the lead and lisps like Humphrey Bogart. The girls are after him, their husbands are dying, and baubles are stolen. The men are assaulted or murdered. Some die standing. The story is happening in France and Germans are in the pub singing as in Casablanca. The women fall or fake love for him and everyone but Colombo carries a gun. The ending sees the German enemy shot in the middle of his forehead and dies on the spot. Girls that were traded for favors get away, show up or walk away. Colombo gets three of the ladies and they drive away in a limo drinking Champagne. And so I say, May The Farce Be With You.

“San Francisco, 1940, detectives, dames, documents, Nazis, and a treasure.”

WHAT IS MY BOOK ABOUT: Explained by Charlotte M. Liebel

REVIEW of JOURNEY TO THE M.A. DEGREE by Charlotte M. Liebel, Author

To write a #MEMOIR is to share motivation and inspire readers to desire to study at college. Such is the reason that one of the courses shared is a
research paper developed on the history of Mark Twain. The book is an effort to motivate and teach adults that it is possible to attend college after a long absence away from studies. The samples of coursework attempt to remove the mystery of higher learning.

PASSION: HOW WE LOVE DEFINES THE BURNING QUESTION by Charlotte M. Liebel

Friend ~ I hear your heart of passion almost every day.  As you speak bold words of God’s mind you express the passion you follow in Christianity. Most visible is your love for family values and background heritage. You express pride and love in your children. How we love defines the burning question: Passion.

Your passion runs deep as you celebrate and visit Indian Nation events in other states with pride. You absorb books in many subjects by the dozens and are an example for family and others that books educate. You show how education is important for one’s mind and share what you learn in conversation. You can never be bored or boring.

Wildlife is another passion of yours in the protection and privacy you give to your bird residents. Because you shelter and nurture God’s creatures, you and your family receive pleasure, education, and blessings.

And your greatest recent accomplishment – juicing – is absolutely a passionate response to eating well, loss of weight, and lifestyle changes. Even your car experienced a passionate response from you over it’s total loss. These emotions are those that I can relate to and to which I can respond in kind.

Passion can not be simply defined. It may be more an expression of how we love rather than what we love.
